These terms apply when you text the iEdit demo at +1 (650) 468-7059 or use this website. By doing either, you agree to them. They're written to be readable, not lawyered into oblivion. Where the wording is plain English, the plain English is what we mean.
1. What iEdit is
iEdit is a free, experimental demo. You text in clips and a caption, a planning model picks an edit, we render it, and we text the result back. The service is provided as is, no warranties of any kind. We may change, throttle, or shut down the demo at any time without notice.
2. Who can use it
You need to be 13 or older. If you're under 18 in your jurisdiction, you confirm a parent or guardian is OK with you using the demo.
3. What you may send
You may send:
- Clips you filmed yourself or have the rights to use.
- Images you have the rights to use.
- Captions describing the edit you want.
You may not send:
- Copyrighted content you don't own (other people's videos, TV clips, films).
- Real people's likenesses in a way that's sexual, harassing, or intended to deceive (no non consensual face swaps, no political deepfakes).
- Sexual content, content involving minors, hate speech, incitement to violence, or anything illegal where you are.
- Requests for copyrighted music. iEdit only uses royalty free or original tracks. If you ask for a specific commercial song, we'll substitute something close in mood.
- Attempts to overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service.
Violations get your number blocked. Serious ones (illegal content) get reported.
4. Rights to your content
You keep all rights to clips and captions you send. By sending them, you grant iEdit a non exclusive, royalty free license to ingest, process, store temporarily, render, and deliver back to you. That's the only license. We don't repost your content, we don't put it in a gallery, we don't use it to train models.
The finished video belongs to you. You can post it wherever. We ask for credit (link to iedit) if you want to be nice, but it's not required.
5. Rights to ours
The iEdit name, mark, prompts, edit planning logic, and the rendering scaffold are ours. You don't need permission to talk about iEdit or link to it. You do need permission to clone the service or pass it off as your own.
6. Music
All music in finished edits comes from licensed royalty free catalogs (primarily Jamendo) or curated public domain tracks. The license covers personal social media use (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts). For commercial use of an iEdit output, contact us first so we can flag any track that needs a different license.
7. Rate limits
The demo is rate limited per sender (currently 50 edits per person per day) and system wide. Limits may change without notice. If you hit a limit, the bot will tell you.
8. No warranty
iEdit may produce bad edits, mis interpret your caption, miss your deadline, or fail entirely. It's an experimental demo. We make no warranty of fitness for any purpose. Don't use it for anything important like a wedding video you need by tomorrow.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, iEdit's total liability for anything related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us, which for a free demo is zero dollars. We're not liable for lost clips, missed posts, missed trends, hurt feelings, or any consequential damages.
10. Termination
You can stop using iEdit any time. Reply STOP to the demo number to opt out of SMS. We can stop offering the demo to you or anyone at any time, with or without reason. Sections that should survive (rights, liability, governing law) survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will also get a heads up in your next reply from the bot.
